Interview with Told Not To Worry

 

On a dreary Sunday afternoon, we sat down with Told Not To Worry before their set at Omen Skate Shop. We were able to have a nice little chat about their new release and their upcoming plans that follow. This band is on a steady uphill climb and they’ve done nothing but blow me away. Told Not To Worry puts on a great performance and it sure to leave you either as a fan or in putrid disgust. Here’s what they had to say…

Brian - Vocals 

Jane - Vocals

Seth - Drums

Marty - Bass

Mike - Guitar 

Tara - Guitar

How would you describe your music to your grandmother?

Brian - Violence in a small area

Jane - Anxiety music for gay people 

Seth - Loud and scary

Marty - Punk rock

Mike - You don’t want to come 

Tara - Punk rock

You guys just released a single over the weekend,  Is that leading up to something bigger?

Marty - We’re about to do a split with the homies in Ultra Violet and then we got some other shit coming later that I don’t think we can leak yet


Seth: Shooting for the fall


Marty: Yeah this fall new music coming soon… Big music


In this new release is there a message you are looking to send?


Jane - Don’t have kids for the wrong reason 


Marty - Don’t text and drive


Jane - Don’t text and drive especially if your kids are in the car


Mike - Don’t curse 


Jane - Serious answer, don’t have kids for the wrong reason, be responsible.

Do you have any plans for out-of-state shows/tours?

Marty: Yeah I think we’re trying to do a big tour this winter hit like a bunch of places on the East Coast


Jane: Philly, New York City, I think Vermont, New Jersey, Ohio; middling. The world


Tara: Providence 

Daughters or Great Redneck Hope?

Brian: GRNH


Jane: GRNH Fuck Daughters, fuck Lex Marshall, fuck that mother fucker


Seth: No comment 


Marty: Redneck Hope

How does it feel playing Newport the same day as The Dropkick Murphys?


Brian: I wish we were there


Marty: Fuck this show I want to be at Dropkick Murphys


Seth: My long-term goal for life is to move to Ireland with my two brothers and to reunite Ireland
